Car conversations are life’s candid moments. The drive is a time to be with one’s thoughts. There is not much to do, but listen to music, think… and speak some deeper truth. The best laughs, and worst arguments take place in a car. Children too, speak their mind.
…..
My daughter begins, “Mommy, do you see that cloud? It looks like an angel and Jesus.”
“Really? Where?”
“Over there.”
“Wow… What do you think it means?”
(A short pause…) “I think it means you are going to have a baby.”
????? “Hmmm…. Interesting interpretation.”… “So will it be a boy or a girl?”
“Both. I want a brother and a sister.”
“Oh, Darcia. How about just one?”
“Ok. Then, I want a brother.”
“Why a brother?”
“Because I like the name Leo. And my brother’s name would be Leo.”
????? “Hmmm… and how did you come up with that name?”
“This tiger’s name is Leona (pointing to her toy). A boy would be Leo.”
“So, if you had a sister, would you name her Leona?”
“Yes.”
“Ok. But I like Grace better, then Leona.”
“If it’s a boy it will be Leo. If it’s a girl it will be Grace. Ok?”
“Ok. But you know mommy is not having a baby now?”
“I know. But you will next Christmas. It’s on my letter to Santa for next Christmas.”
(Speechless…)
…Conversations… My daughter made the same wish for her birthday, as well as, when she saw a falling star… My wish- I wish it was that easy.
