Everyone’s in Our Life for a Reason

I truly believe that every person is in our life for a reason. It could be an aquentance, a short conversation with a stranger, or the obvious friends, who create an interesting experience. And I find that, even in my job I meet souls who fill a special role. They are not just my students, but at times, important messengers who spark a memory, or a connection, and I can’t help but simile. They’re always puzzled when I say, “This is why you’re my student; in this class; at this present time.” Today was one of those special days that messages came to me without hesitations.  First, a middle school boy said, “Mrs. S. this one is for you,” and he played “Imagine all the People” by John Lennon. When I asked him about it, he remembered when I mentioned this song to the class months ago, and he liked it. Next, a girl asked me plainly, “If you had the choice, what superhero power would you have?” Great question. I couldn’t decide. Then, another student began talking about teleportation. I can’t remember the details of his point, because I was stuck on the subject itself. Lastly, a female student answered a writing response about meeting anybody, dead or alive.  She chose, Leonardo Da Vinci… of course! Why not?… Honestly, I don’t over think these coincidences, do I? They are what they are. However, a smile and thought followed: “Really? One would have been enough! Thanks!”…to whom ever.
