Another way to know you are where you suppose to be at the very moment is when your loved one hands you a poem to express his own truth… Yeah! That was more then I expected… My husband is not a man of many words, and even that might be an overstatement. But his calmness, patience and kindness are traits I find quite endearing. It is not everyday that you are in the presence of someone who is that content and filled with the simplicity of daily life.
And there is another meaningful connection, which again made me smile up at the Universe for its delightful tease…. This poem was written on my mother’s birthday. When I saw that, I knew that the words are not only a gift from my husband, but from her as well.
Understanding.
I want to get inside your head…
See the world through your eyes…
Touch the ground with your feet…
I want to hear what you hear…
Feel your heart beat.
Only then can I understand.
Understand me…
Understand you.
Forgive yourself.
You are only mortal filled with blood and bone.
Forgive yourself for being so fragile.
Forgiveness…
I forgive you.
Forgive me…
For not understanding
Your world.
